Time To Hang Up The Hat?
Well, it's been over a month now since I have been able to put out an episode. Work has really been picking up and the holidays slowed things down even further. At this point I am wondering whether it is time to call it quits for Open News and focus on getting some episodes of the_source out there. I don't think a weekly news podcast is very valuable if I can't commit to producing it weekly. What do you think??? Please let me know. I will base my decision on the feedback I get.

I like the show. The only other show that I know of like yours is Linux news log and to be honest your is a lot better. Your site is way better.

I really enjoy your podcast and selfishly I would like you to continue, but if your heart is not in it, I say drop it and do some thing you can really enjoy doing.

Please stay. I've just discovered you. I'm taking a grad class at the University of Maine on Open Source in Education.
Maybe you could make it bi-weekly or even monthly to provide more balance for yourself.

Release them when you can. I agree with one of the poster above. Your show is much better than the linux news log. I'm so tired of hearing about gotomeeting, but I'm stuck since their aren't really any other weekly news shows dedicated to linux & OSS.

I really like opennews, but LQ updates serves nearly the same purpose. I would like you to keep doing it, but like the earlier poster said, if you're heart's not in it, there's not much point.
I never got into the video cast you did though - the thing about video is that you can't do anything else while you're watching it.
If it's literally just time that's stopping you perhaps you could move to a monthly format?
Anyway whatever you decide, good luck, and thanks a ton for all the great shows so far. I always looked forward to opennews, I'll miss it if it goes.

I would like to see this remain. I have really enjoyed it to this point and the linux podcast community will be much weaker without you.

I enjoy you show and listen to it all the time. It can be time consuming for sure to keep a good quality show on the air. Keep up the good work. It is much appreciated by the listeners.

Open News Show has superb quality in terms of content and overall listening experience (sounds, voice quality etc.).
So in my opinion, if it's possible, don't quit the show. You could also do the show whenever you can. I think your listeners will understand (sure I will) when you can't produce new episode every week. Two or three episodes per month is good enough.
I've always enjoyed the show. Keep up the good work.

don't stop! If it cannot be weekly do it when you can, but don't stop!

Hi Aaron. I always loved listening to your podcasts when i was overseas with the army and think i emailed in once last year in May. It broke up the monotony of some of my day so many times during my freetime over there. I loved listening to them when i got back here again too.
I hope that you will go back to releasing one perhaps then per month at least.
Whatever happens however, good luck and thanks for all the great podcasts on Open Source news and linux.

I have really enjoyed the audio podcasts, and I like the concise news round-ups along with a bit of witty commentary.
I will really enjoy the episodes whether they are weekly or monthly or otherwise. If you enjoy doing them then please continue, I will be listening.

Don't be silly you can't stop. The world needs you.

Hey love the show! We'd all die without you now going more than a week at a time will leave us on life support occasionally but that's better than death.
You could be kind of like a network tv special type deal. And maybe even go back to weekly at some point.

Nuts... can't edit comments... Anyway. I'd rather you kept the show up.... Maybe snag a co-host or change the format?? I ran a BBS back in the 80's and it wasn't always fun to remain consistent.
But it does take away from time you could be doing something else. Anyway. I did/do enjoy your podcast, and it helped break up the monotony of driving a big truck...
In any event. I hope the best for you this next year. What ever you decide.
Also, you seem to run a "G" show, if I recall, so why not post your feed over on the TechPodcast networks, and Bluburry.com?
And, I'll try not to get in the way next time I drive though town..
